JCF Initiative | Mingo Central High School

Mingo Central High School  http://mingocentralminers.com

We are assisting Lee Fraley and Johnny Cagigas as they work along with the “Remember the Miners, Inc” (http://www.remembertheminers.org) to implement the “Cagigas Irwin Kirk Remember the Miners Memorial Scholarship.” Johnny and Lee will oversee this scholarship, awarding it to a graduating student of Mingo Central High School who plans to pursue an engineering degree or degree in the mining industry, and who has demonstrated a passion for the state and a desire to give back to others in West Virginia. The scholarship will be done in memory of Johnny Cagigas’ Father, Lee Fraley’s Grandfather, Robie Irwin who was a local mentor to many, and various other miners from the Mingo area.  The Jumet Charitable Foundation will assist in the oversight of the scholarships, donations, distributions, and in mentoring of the students.  Like the initiative with Brady High School, donations will be raised locally in the Mingo Community, or from individuals that grew up in the community, and stay in the community to support Mingo Central High School Students as part of the Cagigas Irwin Kirk Remember the Miners Memorial Scholarship.

Donations for this initiative should be made out to the Jumet Charitable Foundation and mailed as follows:
